Exclusive tour for real wine lovers and connoisseurs to discover the unique variety of styles given by the different local terroirs. Barolo is made entirely from the same grape, nebbiolo, and can be produced in 11 villages only, the 5 most famous being La Morra, Barolo, Monforte, Serralunga and Castiglione Falletto. You will be surprised by the substantial differences given to the wine by the different hills, vineyard exposure and soil components.
There are two major different types of soil, which reflect in two different styles of Barolo: for example, soils in Serralunga are quite old and thin, resulting in wines that have big tannins and structure, whereas soils in la Morra or Barolo are younger and with more sand, giving elegance and finesse to the wine.
Our 2-day in-depth tour will take you through some of the most famous crus of Barolo, in order to taste and fully understand these amazing differences.
DAY 1 – La Morra and Barolo (5 HOUR TOUR)
Explore the “more feminine” side of the Barolo region and discover some world-famous crus such as Cannubi, Sarmassa, Brunate, Cerequio, Rocche, Arborina.
* Introduction to the Barolo area of production
* Morning visit of 2 different wineries located in Barolo and La Morra
* Taste different single-vineyard Barolos at each place
* Sightseeing through the hills and stop at some of the crus tasted
DAY 2 – Serralunga, Castiglione Falletto, Monforte (7 HOUR TOUR)
Explore the “masculine” side of the Barolo region and discover some world-famous crus such as Vigna Rionda, Lazzarito, Francia, Bricco Boschis, Rocche di Castiglione, Fiasco, Parussi, Villero, Ginestra, Bussia, Mosconi.
* Visit 3 different wineries possibly located in the three different villages of Serralunga, Castiglione and Monforte (2 visits in the morning, time for lunch, 1 visit in the afternoon).
* Taste different single-vineyard Barolos at each place
* Sightseeing through the hills and stop at some of the crus tasted
