The Winter Olympic Alps

The Winter Olympic Alps

One cannot visit Piedmont without taking advantage of the expansive Italian Alps
Tour Highlights:
For skiers and snowboarders, there is nothing like experiencing the slopes of Piedmont’s famed ski resorts and towns.

The Via Lattea skiing area, home to the Olympic Winter Games in 2006, includes the famous slopes of Sestriere, Sauze d’Oulx, Cesana and Montegenvre. With nearly 400 kilometers of ski slopes and over 60 ski lifts available, this is the location of many of Europe’s largest and most important winter sports competitions.
Excursions to the Piedmont’s Alps are possible in spring and summer, too. Relaxing walks or hikes can end with a delightful meal to enjoy the typical mountain food, cheese and wine.
